Fume Hood Specifications


The work required under this section consists of providing and installing laboratory hoods with horizontal sashes and related items necessary to complete the work as indicated on the drawings and as described herein. Hoods shall be bench type and 1800 mm (nominal 6 ft.) wide as shown.

15991 - Construction contract specifications for constant volume fume hood testing PDF file

Tests identified below, other than the ANSI/ASRAE 110 test, were created by Farhad Memarzadeh of the National Institutes of Health in 1997 and further revised by Memarzadeh and Brightbill in 1999.   On site testing shall not start until testing, adjusting and balancing of the air and water systems, calibration and tuning of controls systems, off site testing of fume hoods and commissioning are complete and the facility is ready for occupancy.

The work required under this section consists of providing and installing bypass laboratory hoods with vertical sashes and related items necessary to complete the work as indicated on the drawings and as described herein. Hoods shall be bench type and either 1200 mm or 1800 mm (nominal 4-foot or 6-foot) as shown on drawings.
