The Integrated Research Facility at Fort Detrick is a high containment facility for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). It is part of NIAID’s Biodefense Initiative. It features Biosafety Level 2, 3, and 4 laboratories with unique aerobiology and Biosafety Level 4 imaging. It is the first facility in the National Interagency Biodefense Campus (NIBC) of the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID). It was constructed under a Memo of Understanding between NIH and the Army.
