Bldg T44 National Institute on Aging (NIA), Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (CARD)

 Description:

National Institute on Aging (NIA), Center for Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias (CARD) research building provides space that can house approximately 130 intramural scientists, visiting scientists and administrative staff. This facility composed of 65 modular units has an overall building footprint of 24,000 sf. This new and temporary modular facility will support Bio-Safety level 2 laboratories, support areas, breakout areas, huddle spaces, conference rooms and both open and enclosed office spaces on one level. This project will provide a transformative, state-of-the-art research center, bringing together world-leading scientists from both within the intramural and extramural research programs, as well as from industry and academia. This project set the NIH standard for timely delivery of facilities, as it was completed just over two years using a design build contract.
