Focus |
Laboratories use more energy and
water per square foot than other building
types. As
our laboratories age and equipment becomes
obsolete, we have the opportunity to replace the
equipment with more energy efficient models and
implement energy saving technologies and
strategies to ‘green’ our facilities. Reducing our
energy consumption will reduce utility costs,
preserve more funding for science, and benefit
the environment by reducing emissions such as
greenhouse gases.
"Sustainable
Laboratories: Choosing the Right Equipment”
is the first conference to address energy
conservation in the laboratory from the
perspective of employing energy conservation
applications in conjunction with choosing
‘green’ equipment that is compatible with the
ongoing research and building operation. The conference
will showcase the most current thinking as it
relates to choosing ‘green’ equipment used in
biomedical and animal research.
The purpose of the “Sustainable
Laboratories: Choosing the Right Equipment”
conference is:
1.
To present laboratory
equipment technologies that incorporate
state-of-the-art energy efficiency
strategies.
2.
To introduce a
variety of energy reduction applications that
can be used by personnel who are both directly
and indirectly involved in choosing laboratory
equipment. |

|
All
presenters and attendees who attend the entire
program and successfully complete the
end-of-course exercise will qualify to receive
IACET CEUs. Seminar evaluations will be handed
out at the end of the program and should be
completed in their entirety by each attendee.
DTR utilizes these evaluations as a tool to
evaluate the learner’s perception of the program
that they have just attended. As part of our
process for upgrading our programs we depend on
feedback from our current
learners. |
