Maintenance Service Requests

​​​​​Emergencies should be called into the Maintenance Operations 24 Hour Center at 301-435-8000.

Biosafety Lab Level 3 or 4 (BSL-3/BSL-4) facility issues, should be called into the Maintenance Operations 24 Hour Center immediately, at 301- 435 - 8000
(Requester should identify specific Building, Location, Biosafety Level, on-site contact and Facility Issue when speaking to an agent.)

Unusual Odors should be considered a life safety emergency. Call 911 (NIH response) immediately.  Off campus in MD 9 - 911 (Montgomery County response)

Housekeeping requests for the CRC and patient areas of Building 10 should be submitted to the

NIH CC Housekeeping Request Dashboardemailed to CC-MMDHousekeeping@mail.nih.gov​, ​or called into 301-435-3075.​


Routine Maintenance service requests can be entered online​ Recommended Web Browser: Please use Google Chrome if you are experiencing issues accessing the new online ORF Maintenance system (e.g. HTTP Error 404).

Or, call an agent at 301-435-8000, for any requests for utility repair or maintenance, including:

    • housekeeping
    • plumbing
    • ventilation
    • lighting
    • electrical/power repairs
    • water faucets
    • stopped-up drains

Public concerns regarding excessive noise, can be telephoned into NIH Police. 301-496-5685.

Computer Issues

Access to online service requests is occasionally unavailable due to required server maintenance. If your request for maintenance does not go through (you will get immediate notification if this happens), please call 301-435-8000 to have a clerk enter the request for you. The clerk will be able to provide you with a request number that can be used to track the status of the request on the web when service is restored.
