New and Planned Facilities

Planning for and constructing new facilities to meet the growing and changing biomedical research needs of the NIH is an ongoing process that is continually revised based on changing needs and a changing budget climate.

Information on current NIH signature projects is updated monthly and includes construction on the Bethesda campus, in the Washington Metropolitan area, Baltimore and Frederick, Maryland, and at NIH properties in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina and in Hamilton, Montana.

NIH Strategic Facilities Plan (SFP) outlines facility priorities of the NIH Building and Facilities (B&F) plan and the Lease Plan for a five-year period.
