The Integrated Research Facility at Fort Detrick is a high containment facility for the Biodefense initiative of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in Frederick, MD. It features BSL2, 3, and 4 level laboratories with unique aerobioology and BSL 4 imaging. The facility is the first in the new National Interagency Biodefense Campus of the U.S. Army Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) and is being constructed under a Memo of Understanding between NIH and the Army.
Status: Construction 98% complete. Expected completion is late 2009.
