Division of Design and Construction Management (DDCM)

The Division of Design and Construction Management (DDCM) works collaboratively with ICs to provide biomedical research facilities that support critical NIH research and to provide the support facilities for administration and management.  DDCM oversees the design, construction, repair and renovation of all NIH facilities and manages NIH real property. ​The Division of Design and Construction Management (DDCM) works collaboratively with ICs to provide biomedical research facilities that support critical NIH research and to provide the support facilities for administration and management.  DDCM oversees the design, construction, repair and renovation of all NIH facilities and utility systems and manages NIH real property. Areas of DDCM Responsibility are
Comprehensive Design and Construction Management program
·        Collaborative design and management with NIH ICs to provide world-class biomedical and support facilities
·        Design and management program to support design, construction, alterations, renovations, and repairs of facilities
·        Design, construction and renovation of systems, utilities and grounds at NIH owned facilities
·        Design and management program to ensure that NIH facilities are in compliance with industry standards and certified programs, such as Joint Commission, AAALAC, AFPAB, BSL.
·        Safe and efficient NIH leased and owned real property

Office of the Director
The Division of Design and Construction Management (DDCM) works collaboratively with ICs to provide biomedical research facilities that support critical NIH research and to provide the support facilities for administration and management.  DDCM oversees the design, construction, repair and renovation of all NIH facilities and utility systems and manages NIH real property Director Rick Robey 301-827-​4509​.
Clinical  Design and Construction Branch
Provides architectural, engineering, and construction management services required to design and renovate facilities within the Building 10 complex.  Working closely with customers, employs a variety of in-house and contract staff to meet the renovation needs of IC customers and in support of the NIH mission. Laboratory Design and Construction Branch
Provides architectural, engineering, and construction management services required to design and renovate facilities on the NIH campus and in leased buildings.  Working closely with customers, employs a variety of in-house and contract staff to meet the renovation needs of IC customers and in support of the NIH mission.  Branch Chief Dan Janniello, 240-537-8662.
Cancer  & SAT program Design and Construction Branch
Provides architectural, engineering, and construction management services required to design and renovate NCI facilities on the NIH campus and in leased buildings.  Working closely with customers, employs a variety of in-house and contract staff to meet the renovation needs of IC customers and in support of the NIH mission.  Provide facilities expertise and project management for small alterations on NIH campus. Office and Leased Facilities Branch
Provides architectural, engineering, and construction management services required to design and renovate non clinical, non-Building 10 facilities on the NIH campus and in leased buildings.  Working closely with customers, employs a variety of in-house and contract staff to meet the renovation needs of IC customers and in support of the NIH mission. Design and Technical Services Branch
Provides design, architectural, engineering, and construction subspecialties (such as building envelope) required to translate ORF customer requirements into state-of-the art designs that support NIH biomedical research, administrative and management spaces, amenities and other aspects of NIH facilities and support systems.   Provides construction design, building, renovation and repair expertise to other DDCM Branches and other ORF Divisions.  Provide quality services to project officers.  Provide methods, templates, systems and training to other DDCM Branches and other ORF Divisions, to continually improve the processes and methods of DDCM efforts.  Working closely with customers, employs a variety of in-house and contract staff to meet the renovation needs of IC customers and in support of the NIH mission.
